Good thing I'm not a radio star. :) Here are some video clips from my Colorado photo shoot extravaganza with Lynsey Peterson. Videography by Eric Paton. I know I blink a lot and make some "interesting" fashion choices, but I hope you can still enjoy all the jive!
I wrote this chorus back in December after visiting my Mom & Step-Dad, Rick, in Missouri. Rick has some health problems and was laying in bed feeling really ill. I looked in at one point and my Mom was spooning him and telling him everything was going to be ok. It was one of those moments where you don't know if you should feel happy or sad. Maybe just thankful for unconditional love.
After I wrote the chorus, I started in on the verses after reading journal updates for Ty Dahlstrom. Ty is amazing. His family is amazing. What they are going through right now is life-altering, but they stay strong together.
Inspired by two precious boys, Rick Baldwin & Ty Dahlstrom, who are not going this alone.

So...I've been thinking for quite awhile now that I want to buy a keytar. They deserve a 2nd shot after the 80's. I'll probably never be quite as awesome as this lady, but I can sure try!
This video got Carl & I choked up this morning. Someday when we have an appropriate home for adopting a kitty, we're totally getting a special one like Charley.
As previously mentioned, my sweetheart won the TX State Guitar Championship last weekend! He brought home a Gibson Advanced Jumbo guitar and a trophy that I can only describe as being straight out of the Hannah Montana collection. I asked him if he stopped by Libby Lu's on the way home...
My name is Beth. Short for Elisabeth Juliana. I was loosely named after a song called "I'm Not Lisa (my name is Julie)" by Jessi Colter. My maiden name was Singer, I once lived on Speaker Road. Music is part of me.
I've been performing since I was five years old and started playing with bands when I was 15. I also started writing songs in my teens. Though I still use my pipes whenever I get the chance, songwriting has become my true passion! I love sitting in my bedroom, fingertips on black & white keys, pouring my heart into lyrics, putting my soul into a melody. I normally don't have enough patience to work at something for days, months, or years, but this little writing thing has really got me hooked!
With that said, I am gearing up for what I call "Destination Nashville 2010"!! I really feel like I need to be there, to be a part of the huge songwriting machine that can swallow you whole or bring you to life. I'm excited & terrified all at the same time, but mostly happy to be able to chase after a dream.
