Quote of the Day...

I overheard Carl telling someone about this guy we used to perform with that would always wear this pair of "lambskin pants". He then said this:

"...and I realized that a poor lamb had to die just so he could be a douche bag."

Put your money where your mouth is...

I received this message from our friend Jim. And this is exactly why we love him. :)

Listen, I just decided that "Eddie Money" the "Musician" or some times
known as "Artist", is in fact the worst musical performer in the history
of commercial music. Yes, this includes beating clowns like Brittany
Spears, William Hung (SP?), and Vanilla Ice. It's a done deal. It is
not possible for a commercial artist to be worse than Eddie Money. That
guy is going to pay!

If I am ever constipated, I can just find "Two Tickets to Paradise" and
punch my ticket at the toilet seat, and if I am poisoned and need to
vomit, I can just listen to "Take Me Home Tonight."

I am sorry if you had the notion that some entity is worse than Money.
You are wrong. Eddie Money is surely dreadful!

If you ever leave me, will you take me with you?

I saw this picture of my friend Michelle, cheating on me with ANOTHER girl, but I solved the problem:

"Cursive" - my R&B/Country song
"The Nap Song" - a Western Swing type of thing

New Unauthorized Beth Biography!!

Not really. I wrote it myself. It's not easy to write stuff about yourself, but I realized that there was no bio information on any of my multitude of websites. Here we go...

I consider myself one of the lucky ones...I discovered something I'm completely passionate about at a young age. And that's all any of us really need to be happy...something to be excited about!

But I don't know if I found it or it found me. My maiden name was Singer, I once lived on Speaker Rd, and I was making up songs and singing solos in Church by the time I was 5. I really feel like God has been guiding me into this since I was a little girl. He not only gave me a voice, but also the choice to use it.

I grew up in several little towns in Oregon. Recorded my first demo when I was barely 14, started performing with bands that same year, met my amazing Husband when I was 15 (he played guitar on my 1st CD & was the 1999 National Flatpicking Champion), I sang in front of over 20,000 people by the time I was 16, made an album in Nashville when I was 17, opened for major acts before I was 18, and was performing 6 nights a week when my 19th Birthday rolled around.

I won over a dozen "Indie Artist" awards during my teen years, but when it was time for my 20's, this thing called "real life" took over. I moved out on my own for the first time, started working a day job, married my sweetheart, bought a house, and found that music still owns me...

So we packed up our little cars (Tucker & Chloe) and headed East to Austin, Texas - the "Live Music Capital of the World". We had our condo-buying experience chronicled on an episode of HGTV's House Hunters and quickly settled into our lovely new life. We now own an Advertising/Marketing/Design Agency in Downtown Austin and have been so blessed to find friends that love life as much as we do!

Songwriting is currently my biggest thrill. My ambition is to write for other artists and for special projects. I'm about to release my new album "Minutes With You" in 2008, and one of the most personal songs we've recorded pretty much sums up my emotional state...I Am From Hopeful.

Wipeout!

Did anybody else watch the premiere of that new show called "Wipeout" last night? It was pretty bad, but every bad boy has a soft side. Don't try to make sense of that, it just felt like the right thing to say. The show is based around this giant impossible obstacle course that could seriously injure someone. And did they get a whole group of people that were athletic & fit? Now why would they do that?? Most of the innocent victims were exhausted after the first obstacle. That is good TV if I've ever seen good TV.

Why Can't I Quit You?

We went to Lisa & Jamie's Anniversary/Costume Party last night...they had a "Movie & TV Character" theme. We wanted something ridiculous, so we went as the dudes from Brokeback Mountain:

Charley...

This video got Carl & I choked up this morning. Someday when we have an appropriate home for adopting a kitty, we're totally getting a special one like Charley.

'ello governor...

We were at the grocery store tonight when I got the phone call. I cried in the frozen food section, next to the veggie lasagna. :)

We'll put it all together & save you more...

Has anybody else noticed the red-haired lady on the Room Store commercials? I don't know this for a fact, but I'm pretty sure she's an alien.

My body always thanks me when I feed it healthy things. Carl also makes me some delicious, healthy smoothies every week:

CHERRY VANILLA SMOOTHIE
(makes two smallish servings)
one cup of ice
one cup of frozen cherries
1.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of agave nectar
equal measures vanilla soymilk & orange juice (fill to top of all ingredients)
blend well & enjoy!

Shut yo' mouth!!

Anyone that knows me KNOWS that I have a hard time keeping secrets. I like to be an open book, but I'm having to be a good girl for awhile now. I might burst.
