Tater tale...

I've been working from home quite a bit lately, which I'm loving, but I have a problem with eating properly when I'm on my own. Sometimes I just forget about lunch until I'm ready to keel over around 4pm.

We also haven't been grocery shopping for awhile, and since we buy a lot of fresh stuff, we never have much food on hand. Around 1:30pm, I was hungry, so I decided to make myself a couple of baked potatoes in the microwave.

But, once I'd cooked the taters, I realized that we were out of our vegan butter. Crap. But since I'd already put SO much effort into washing off the potatoes and putting them in the microwave (exhausting!!!), I wasn't turning back!!! :)

So I used tobasco, salt, and dill.

I know. Sounds gourmet. I'm resourceful. Carl wasn't pleased with my meal choice when I told him, so he brought me home some DELICIOUS mexican takeout. yummmm...

The end.

Jeffie Money...

This is Jeff McAdams, President of HigherOut. I can see into his office from my desk and I would call his decor "cowboy doctor", with an animal hide on the wall and giant mahogany desk. :) I love it when he comes to visit with us because he always tells ridiculous stories that make us laugh!

Give 'em what they really want...

Here at the Carl Miner Idea Group, we just love our Clients soooo much! I wish we could've done this for each one of them, but we had to pick two.

Desk #1:
Jon @ The Library Bar

We coordinated with a lady in their office to email us whenever he left the building. She sent a message last week and we showed up with a roll of wrapping paper and tape, then quickly wrapped as many items as we could that were on his desk already:

Desk #2:
Blake @ HigherOut

The people that work next door to us are hilarious, so we definitely had to work our magic for one of them! We waited til our buddy Blake left for the day to pimp his zone. This is me with my "innocent face":

When we arrived the next morning, Blake had taken some of the paper and wrapped our door! Including the door knob and lock. And to that we say "Touche".

Mouse in the house...

A package was delivered to our office this week and it contained this little nugget of pink happiness:

My Mister ordered a new wireless mousie for my computer. :)

Mooostaches...

I had so much fun designing this poster! I had to find 42 pictures of dudes with moustaches. We also just launched their website: www.librarybars.com

YOU should grow a moustache for NYE. For real. You owe it to society.

Jesus Shoes...

One of Carl's sandals broke today. The part that fits in between your toes snapped apart from the sole. We were at the office and I couldn't let him walk barefoot into the community potty room, so I got creative and attached the sandal to his footie with a big rubber band. He finds my resourcefulness amusing. ;)

Herbivore...

We got a package in the mail last week from Lynsey that contained a "gummy dinosaur". I enjoy random things like that. We had it at work and told Diego he could have it if he put it in his veggie sammich.

What the Dell???

Carl got a sexy new computer today!! He certainly deserves it and I'm excited to get his old one...mine is straight from the ghetto right now...it's missing keys and the cord has to be at a very special angle to get power.

I asked him to give me "crazy eyes" for this pic:

One in a million doesn't always mean you're unique...

Since we're lucky enough to work in the creative industry, we constantly have to seek out inspiration. One guy that I find intriguing is Hugh MacLeod, a cartoonist and professional blogger. Here is one of his musings that caught my attention:

Don't fear the one-eyed snake...

I only wore mascara on one eye yesterday.

I usually apply my face during our commute, but I got a phone call while I was painting the first peeper. And then things were chaotic when we got to the office. I sat through 3 meetings with a lazy viewfinder and didn't realize it until I washed my face last night and only one side ran like a hooker in tears.

Carl & Diego put together a new bookcase yesterday and then I decorated it with about a billion "design inspiration" books and magazines...and a pumpkin.

You have too much crap. No really, you do.

We just launched a new website over the weekend: www.gosellsomethingproject.com

This is an awesome deal through our church that you should totally get involved with! We'll be at the Treasure Sale on 10/18, so load up your junk and haul it down there. :) You'll see Carl & me at the end of this video. Pretty funny:

Potty Hotties...

There used to be two obese women that worked in the office next door and since they left, the women's restroom has gone from needing industrial air freshener to clean & pleasant. I guess the saying "what goes in is what comes out" is true...

Do you know how I know you're gay?

I came back to the office from a lunch date and Carl was blasting Clay Aiken, Tina Arena, and Celine Dion...

And I immediately started singing along. Our guilty pleasure pop music!!! I love it.

Don't judge, everybody has some...what's yours?

Bumspeak...

I work downtown and get to see plenty of awesome bum action. I went to move my car one day and a bum said to me "you look good enough to eat". I almost said thank you until I realized that he probably either meant it sexually or maybe he was just really really hungry. Either way, pepper spray is my friend.
